Standard story on the discipline. It sounds like it was a "hazing" issue.
Rosensweig’s family has hired high-profile Toronto lawyer Leora Shemesh to represent their son. Shemesh said her client’s name had been dragged through the mud without a chance to respond — and there is more to the story.
“I’ve been struck by how secretive a process this has been,” Shemesh said.
She said a professional investigator (who is a former homicide detective) interviewed Rosenzweig, who didn’t know he was the subject of a complaint.
“He thought he was participating in an interview about hazing initiations in general,” Shemesh said. “He didn’t even know someone had made a complaint against him.”
Shemesh said Rosenzweig’s contract stipulates he has to take part in investigations.
“So participates with parents in tow, and then one bright morning, dad’s watching CP24 and learns the league has suspended his son indefinitely.
“Josh never received a phone call. He was just yanked off the ice and told he’s been suspended and removed from the OHL — and at 20 years old, life as he knows it is over.”
